Collinsville miners vow strike will continue
Protesters at a coal mine at Collinsville, north-west of Mackay in north Queensland, say they will continue to strike despite a minor breakthrough in negotiations with the mine's operator, isabel marant 2013, Thiess.
The members of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (CFMEU) have been blocking train access to the mine for a fortnight in a dispute over pay.
"These matters could have been resolved without the employees having to engage in protected action, if Thiess had been realistic with claims the employees had before them," he said.
Mr Pierce says both groups will meet on Friday to try and resolve issues over job security and pay.
"Delegates from Thiess, isabel marant sneakers, Thiess's management and ourselves and after a period of time - the Commissioner,Isabel Marant Bottes, will be coming in to hear what's happened and provide us with some assistance and direction, if necessary," he said.
